Finding Her Voice

"I loved my family, but I'd forgotten how to care for myself."

Challenge
A young mother of two felt overwhelmed by the constant pressure to keep everyone happy. Living with her in-laws, she found it difficult to set boundaries for fear of causing offence. Although supported by a loving husband, the emotional strain began affecting her sleep, confidence and patience with her children.

Our Approach
Using CBT as the foundation, we explored people-pleasing patterns, perfectionism and beliefs around guilt and responsibility. Elements of DBT, Humanistic and Emotion-Focused Therapy helped her regulate emotions, communicate more confidently and develop healthier boundaries.

Working Together
Between sessions, she practised new communication skills, reflected on long-held beliefs and gradually prioritised her own wellbeing alongside her family's.

The Progress
She experienced better sleep, greater emotional balance and renewed confidence. Family relationships remained warm, while her patience with her children and sense of self steadily returned.

Rediscovering Purpose

"When my children left home and became independent, I wasn't sure who I was anymore."

Challenge
After her children became independent, one mother found herself grieving the loss of purpose and professional identity. She questioned her value, struggled with financial dependence and coped by constantly cleaning, organising and staying busy.

Our Approach
Combining CBT with Humanistic and Psychodynamic approaches, therapy explored identity, self-worth and the transition into a new life stage. Behavioural Activation and values-based planning helped reconnect her with meaningful goals.

Working Together
She embraced reflective exercises, gradually reintroduced enjoyable activities and began shaping a future built on purpose rather than obligation.

The Progress
She rediscovered confidence, emotional balance and a renewed sense of identity, replacing constant busyness with a more fulfilling and intentional life.

Finding Peace of Mind

"Living alone, every small concern felt like the beginning of a crisis."

Challenge
An older couple living independently found themselves increasingly anxious after their only son settled in the United States. Everyday health concerns quickly escalated into fears of emergencies, affecting sleep, concentration and confidence.

Our Approach
Using CBT alongside Interpersonal and Family Therapy principles, we addressed health anxiety, uncertainty and the emotional impact of living far from loved ones, while developing practical coping strategies and future planning.

Working Together
Together, we reduced reassurance-seeking, strengthened confidence and developed healthier ways of staying emotionally connected without becoming emotionally dependent.

The Progress
They felt calmer, more independent and more confident managing life's uncertainties, while continuing to enjoy a close relationship with their family abroad.

Moving Forward After Loss

"Life carried on... but I didn't know how to."

Challenge
Following the loss of a loved one, an individual found themselves moving through each day on autopilot. Sleep became disrupted, concentration declined and even simple tasks felt overwhelming. They felt caught between profound sadness and guilt for trying to move forward.

Our Approach
Drawing on CBT, Humanistic, Psychodynamic and Emotion-Focused Therapy, we created a safe space to process grief, understand difficult emotions and gently rebuild daily routines without diminishing the significance of the loss.

Working Together
Together, we honoured the relationship that had been lost while gradually restoring structure, connection and moments of meaning in everyday life.

The Progress
Grief remained an important part of their story, but it no longer defined each day. They found greater peace, reconnected with others and began looking towards the future with hope.

Recovering from Burnout

"Success had become exhausting."

Challenge
A high-performing professional sought support after months of relentless pressure left them emotionally and physically depleted. Poor sleep, constant worry and difficulty switching off had begun affecting both work and home life.

Our Approach
Using CBT alongside Psychodynamic, Humanistic and Interpersonal approaches, therapy explored perfectionism, self-expectations and workplace relationships. Practical strategies focused on restoring balance, improving boundaries and reconnecting with personal values.

Working Together
Through regular reflection and small, sustainable changes, healthier work habits replaced the constant cycle of overcommitment and exhaustion.

The Progress
Energy, focus and confidence gradually returned. Work became more sustainable, relationships improved and success no longer came at the expense of wellbeing.

Breaking Free from Overthinking

"My mind never seemed to switch off."

Challenge
A young professional found themselves constantly replaying conversations, worrying about future events and imagining worst-case scenarios. Sleep became difficult, decisions felt overwhelming and even enjoyable moments were overshadowed by persistent "what if..." thoughts.

Our Approach
Using CBT alongside Metacognitive Therapy (MCT), Humanistic and Emotion-Focused approaches, we explored the thinking patterns keeping anxiety alive. Therapy focused on reducing unhelpful rumination, building emotional awareness and developing practical strategies to regain control.

Working Together
Together, we practised new ways of responding to anxious thoughts, gradually reduced avoidance behaviours and rebuilt confidence through small, manageable steps.

The Progress
The mind became quieter, decisions felt easier and everyday life no longer revolved around worry. Greater calm, confidence and emotional freedom allowed the client to focus on living rather than constantly anticipating what might go wrong.
